I am new here, registered a while ago but havent been active or reading here or anything - honestly i thought i wouldnt have access to much here unless I paid a membership and just couldnt afford it... but anyways, i have a question/some ponderings for you and would like your honest thoughts on it....

THe "get to know me" list of questions with all that personal stuff, do u think that info could ever be mined/spidered/captured digitally some how and be used against us at some later date when the political situation (Sunday laws, etc) start cropping up?

I only went to an SDA elementary school, not high school or college, so I dont have a deep network of friends my in my age/location/interests and am really feeling the need to network with other Adventists and want to be open with them but am concerned about this issue. I know the Lord leads and protects us, but we are also supposed to use our heads as well and be wise as serpents when dealing with the world.

Those are some valid concerns. Any personal information on the Internet has the potential of being captured and used with or without our permission. Your advice, to be wise as serpents, is good advice. I hope this doesn't stop you from joining this community, however. Simply be wise, post only things with which you feel comfortable sharing. And if you ever post something that you feel is inappropriate, you can always ask an administrator here to delete it for you. It won't be erased from the Internet entirely, but it will be much more inaccessible for future "spider bots".
